Blackberry-Sprint question?

-I am a sprint user on a family plan. we do not have the data plan included. I am up for an upgrade in november but need a new phone now. is it possible to buy a blackberry tour and use it without having the data plan on sprint? and if it is not possible to buy the phone directly through sprint, could i buy the phone somewhere else and just call and have them move all of my information over instead? i really want a blackberry but not the data plan. thx
